Take the free Risk Analysis
The Color of Money Risk Analysis asks eleven questions about how you actually feel when markets move. Most people find their answers sit some distance from how their money is currently invested. That gap is worth knowing before you retire into it.
The assessment opens in a new tab on thefinancialhq.com, the platform that builds and scores it. Your results come back to Robert.
How it works
Answer eleven questions
Five minutes, on your own, with nothing to look up first. The questions are about how you would react to a market drop, not about your balances.
See your score straight away
The result appears as soon as you finish, with the reasoning behind it. Robert receives the same information.
Bring it to the conversation
On the first call we start from your score instead of from introductions. Once the planning work begins, Robert reads it against your real accounts.
Why risk tolerance matters more once you stop working
While you are still earning, a bad year is uncomfortable. You keep contributing, and time repairs most of the damage. Once you are drawing income, the same bad year does something different: you sell shares to fund your spending at exactly the moment those shares are worth least, and those shares are then gone from the recovery.
That is sequence of returns risk, and it is the reason a portfolio that suited you at 50 can be the wrong portfolio at 62 even though nothing about it changed. The Risk Analysis is a way of finding out whether your tolerance and your allocation still agree with each other.
What we do with your score
It becomes the first thing on the agenda. Rather than spending the opening of a call establishing background, we start from what your answers say and work outward: whether your current allocation matches them, what an income floor would need to cover, and how much of your plan currently depends on markets cooperating early.
Once the planning work begins, Robert reads the score against your actual accounts alongside withdrawal sequencing and Roth conversion timing. On its own a score is a conversation starter. Read against real balances, it changes decisions.
